fonts-lohit-beng-bengali software package provides Lohit TrueType font for Bengali Language, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-lohit-beng-bengali
fonts-lohit-beng-bengali is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-lohit-beng-bengali package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-lohit-beng-bengali *
You will get with fonts-lohit-beng-bengali package name, version, architecture and description in a table
